A cluster industrial/occupational program that provides for a sequence of secondary technical core planned courses in Tech Prep. This program prepares individuals to apply knowledge and skills in the mechanics/installers/repairers field. Instruction is provided in the basic skills in a variety of areas associated with mechanics/installers/repairers such as electrical and electronics equipment installers and repairers; heating, air conditioning and refrigeration mechanics and repairers; industrial equipment maintenance and repairers; and vehicle and mobile equipment mechanics and repairers. Instruction includes, but is not limited to, maintenance, tune-up, major overhaul of gas and diesel engines; use of technical manuals; hydraulics; electricity; fluid power; care and use of tools and test equipment; troubleshooting techniques; reconditioning and replacement of parts; and instrument calibration.
