A cluster industrial/occupational program that provides for a sequence of secondary technical core planned courses in Tech Prep. This program prepares individuals to apply knowledge and skills in the consumer service field. Instruction is provided in the basic skills in a variety of areas associated with consumer service such as protective service, food and beverage preparation and service, personal service and building and grounds service. Instruction includes, but is not limited to, care and guidance of children and adults; nutrition and meal planning; managing and performing household tasks; cleaning and caring for various residential and industrial surfaces and materials; scheduling work; purchasing supplies; controlling costs; caring for fabric and textiles; custody and security procedures; administrative responsibilities; crisis intervention; institutional policies, regulations and operations; and use and care of equipment.
